06/01 Guatemala’s National Night

Guate’s National Night started with a vídeo from the turistic and special places in their country. After that, they showed us their coreography to the “El son y tu mujer” song. In the end of it, they had a special twist to their traditional dance: some awesome free style moves!

Also great was the activity they had planned for us: Guatemala’s kids teached everyone how to handcraft string bracelets. And last but not least, came the food! We tried “Dulce de leche”, “tostadas con frijol” and “chocobananos”. Yumm!

Andres, from Guatemala, said that having typical food from back home was his favourite part!

Everyone also got typical souveniers from Guate! Thanks!!

04/01 Peru’s National Night

Tonight we had Peru’s National Night presentations. When we woke up, the dinning hall was already all decorated with beautiful pictures from Peru and it’s national colors! Before one the activities, the Peruvian girls started to share a little bit of their home with us by doing the Llama energizer.

For snack, Peru had also prepared a very special piece of their country for everyone. We ate “papa a la huanca’ina” (lettuce, potatoes, boiled eggs, black olives and a special sauce), “turr’on” (a “cake” which’s special ingrediente is honey) and “chich morada” (a drink made by sweet purple corn).

After showing us beautiful vídeos about Peru’s prettiest landscapes and culture, the Peruvian girls danced “Le dije a Papa”, “Anaconda”, “Saya” and “Que linda flor”. After the presentations were over, they taught us how to dance to their home’s happy and energetic songs! Big success! The special touch of Peru’s presentations were their costumes: following our theme in CISV this year (sustainable development), all the girls costumes were handmade by recicled material! Great idea and iniciative!

When asked which part of her National Night she enjoyed the most, Mariel said: “Just everything!”. It’s safe to say that she speaks for all of us! Thanks Peru!!

03/01 Chile’s National Night

Today was Chile’s National Night! The room was decorated with Chilean colors and the presentations started with curious facts about their nation. After that, we all watched some videos about Chile’s nicest landscapes and culture, which gave us looots of reasons to go visit Chile!

Then the delegation showed us the different dances and costumes from different parts of the country. The food came right after: amazing alfajores and typical chocolates!

To end their great night, Chile showed us typical games from their home, like the sac race. Lots of fun! Thanks Chile!!
